NMSA Nepal Earthquake Disaster Response

Disaster response is not the primary work of NDs, who focus on more sustainable health initiatives.

However, sometimes disaster strikes. On April 24, 2015, an earthquake struck Nepal – its epicenter very close to where NMSA intern, Erin Moore ND, had just settled in her adopted home- a village called Karmidanda, 4 hours travel outside of Kathmandu, to lead a participatory development project.

The village was largely destroyed. There are many dead and critically injured. When last heard from, Erin was providing first aid on a mountainside. This village will need help. Dr. Erin Moore will need help.

Naturopathic medicine responded to the earthquake in Haiti, after hurricane Katrina and annually serve the poverty stricken coal mining communities in Virginia. We are asking for your support now.
