What is the Legislative Track? A group within NMSA for students interested in naturopathic licensure.
Why should I get involved? This track is great for students that: - Want to see naturopathic medicine licensed in all 50 states
- Come from unlicensed states and want to be active in efforts for change
- Want to network with students from other schools and discuss legislative efforts
- Would like to form strong political action groups among all CNME schools for specific states
- Understand the benefits of collaboration among all CNME schools and the benefits it can have on licensure efforts
- Are interested in naturopathic legislation on a national level.
- Are creative and have ideas on promoting the future profession
What happened in the NMSA Legislative Track in past years? - Expansion of Federal Stafford Loans and how that affected naturopathic medicine on the national level
- How students can work with state associations
- What to do when there is no state association
- How to testify at the state level
- How to implement action at your own school
- How to negotiate and stay true to naturopathic medicine at the legislative table - Updates on state and federal initiatives
