Bob's Red Mill Speech Scholarship

 
The Bob's Red Mill Speech Scholarship honors 3 students every year who have displayed excellence in oratory skills. Each of the three finalists delivered a 10 minute speach on the topic, "Food as Medicine" at the Northwest Naturopathic Physicians Convention (NWNPC).  The 1st place winner recieves a $7000 scholarship!!!

First Place Winner wins $7,000
Second Place Winner wins $4,000
Third Place Winner wins $2,000

We are currently taking submissions for the 2012 Contest.  To be eligible, you must be a naturopathic medical student at one of the 7 accredited schools in North America.  The final round will occur on May 18th, 2012 at the Northwest Naturopathic Physicians Convention (NWNPC) in Blaine, WA.

To Enter:
  • Pick a grain.
  • Create a 3 minute speech about said grain, videotape yourself delivering this speech and post it to YouTube by 5pm PST on March 16th, 2012.  To find out more about how to make sure your video is part of your schools' contest, please contact your local NMSA Chapter President or Jamuna Sivapalan at
  • Each college will choose one contestant to move to the next round.
  • Judges wil review the seven speeches and select 3 finalists, who will receive free airfare and entrance to the NWNPC.
  • On Friday, May 18th, the three finalists will give a 10 minute speech on the topic:  Food as Medicine.
  • The winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner on May 19th.
